A lot of young people have shown keen interest in joining an ever-growing media world, most of them having obtained a first degree in a different course. However, with the advent of social media where everyone can now become a journalist with a click of a button, some people want to grow professionally in the field. An existing and fast-evolving industry, the media has a lot of opportunities for young people to be self-reliant and sustainable as long as they are passionate about current events and interested in storytelling.
However, pursuing a career in journalism is not a big deal. It is important to note that communication is something we are all involved with, in our day-to-day lives, from writing short poems and social media comments, setting the news agenda, voicing your opinion, interviewing people, and raising awareness of stories that you think are inspiring. These are ways we get involved in journalism daily.

This course introduces you to the fundamental aspects of mass media as well as other interrelated media. It also touches on several ways one can join the field without necessarily attending a conventional class.
